COUNCIL MINUTES

October 6, 2008

The City Council of the City of Mesa met in a Study Session in the lower level meeting room of the Council Chambers, 57 East 1st Street, on October 6, 2008 at 5:15 p.m.

1. Review items on the agenda for the October 6, 2008 Regular Council meeting.

All of the items on the agenda were reviewed among Council and staff and the following was noted:

Conflicts of interest declared: None

Items added to the consent agenda: None

Amendment to consent agenda item: 8g

Councilmember Somers offered an amendment to Section 4.1E of the Community Plan (see Attachment 1) that requires the Master Developer to submit a Development Report to the City of Mesa at least every three years. The Council concurred with the amendment.

2. Hear reports on meetings and/or conferences attended.

Vice Mayor Jones: Met with representatives of the Target Corporation, a sponsor of the “3 for Free” promotion that provides free access to Mesa’s three museums on the first Sunday of each month.

3. Scheduling of meetings and general information.

City Manager Christopher Brady stated that the meeting schedule is as follows:

Thursday, October 9, 2008, 7:30 a.m. – Study Session

Saturday, October 11, 2008 – District 6 Pancake Breakfast at Fire Station 212

Saturday, October 18, 2008 – Getting Arizona Involved in Neighborhoods (GAIN) Event

Thursday, October 23, 2008, 7:30 a.m. – Study Session

Thursday, October 23, 2008, 4:00 p.m. – Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the new Crime Lab

Saturday, October 25, 2008, 10:00 a.m. – City Hall at the Mall at Superstition Springs Mall

Councilmember Higgins reported that the MAC Fest on October 4^th was very successful, and she advised that the event will be held every Saturday through May.

4. Adjournment.

Without objection, the Study Session adjourned at 5:28 p.m.
