The City Council of the City of Mesa met in a Study Session in the lower level meeting room of the Council Chambers, 57 East 1st Street, on October 5, 2009 at 5:09 p.m.

1. Review items on the agenda for the October 5, 2009 Regular Council Meeting.
All of the items on the agenda were reviewed among Council and staff and the following was noted:

Items added to the consent agenda: None

2. Hear reports on meetings and/or conferences attended.
Councilmember Finter: Attended the Household Hazardous Waste Disposal event
Councilmember Kavanaugh: Dobson High School Orchestra fundraising event
Mayor Smith: U.S. Conference of Mayors Fall Leadership meeting; Presentation to the National Association of Regional Councils
Vice Mayor Jones: Light Rail event with Phoenix Vice Mayor Tom Simplot
3. Scheduling of meetings and general information.
City Manager Christopher Brady stated that the meeting schedule is as follows:
Wednesday, October 7, 2009, 6:30 a.m. – Fire Prevention Week Free Pancake Breakfast, Old Fire Station 201
Thursday, October 8, 2009, 7:30 a.m. – Study Session
Thursday, October 8, 2009, 8:30 a.m. – Audit & Finance Committee Meeting
Saturday, October 10, 2009, 8:00 a.m. – District 1 Pancake Breakfast, Fire Station 211
Saturday, October 17, 2009, 8:00 a.m. – District 4 Pancake Breakfast, Fire Station 202
Saturday, October 24, 2009, 5:00 p.m. – Annual G.A.I.N. (Getting Arizona Involved in Neighborhoods) Event
Saturday, October 31, 2009, 10:00 a.m. – City Hall at the Mall, Superstition Springs Mall
