The City Council of the City of Mesa met in a Study Session in the lower level meeting room of the Council Chambers, 57 East 1st Street, on January 12, 2009 at 5:15 p.m.

1. Review items on the agenda for the January 12, 2009 Regular Council meeting.
All of the items on the agenda were reviewed among Council and staff and the following was noted:
Conflicts declared: None
Items added to the consent agenda: None
Items removed from the agenda: 6f (Continued to the January 26th Council meeting.)
2. Hear reports on meetings and/or conferences attended.
Councilmember Kavanaugh: Attended the opening of the Spring Training Exhibit at the Mesa Historical Museum.
Councilmember Richins: Attended the Foreclosure Prevention Seminar sponsored by Mesa and other East Valley cities.
Mayor Smith: Assisted in the installation of the new Senior Pastor at the First Baptist Church of Mesa.
3. Scheduling of meetings and general information.
City Manager Christopher Brady stated that the meeting schedule is as follows:
Thursday, January 15, 2009, 7:30 a.m. – Study Session
Monday, January 19, 2009, 8:00 a.m. – Martin Luther King Celebration Breakfast
Monday, January 19, 2009, 11:00 a.m. – Martin Luther King Celebration Parade
Thursday, January 22, 2009, 7:30 a.m. – Study Session
Monday, January 26, 2009, TBA – Study Session
Monday, January 26, 2009, 5:45 p.m. – Regular Council Meeting
4. Adjournment.
Without objection, the Study Session adjourned at 5:34 p.m.
