December 10, 2009
The City Council of the City of Mesa met in a Study Session in the lower level meeting room of the Council Chambers, 57 East 1st Street, on December 10, 2009 at 7:31 a.m.

(Vice Mayor Jones and Councilmember Higgins arrived at the meeting at 7:32 a.m.)
1. Review items on the agenda for the December 14, 2009 Regular Council Meeting.
All of the items on the agenda were reviewed among Council and staff and the following was noted:
Conflicts of interest declared: None
Items added to the consent agenda: None
Items deleted from the consent agenda: 6b
2. Hear reports on meetings and/or conferences attended.
Councilmember Kavanaugh: Delivered donated toys to the Cardon Children’s Medical Center; Citizen Police Academy Graduation
Councilmember Somers: CMC Steel Grand Opening
Vice Mayor Jones: Downtown Mesa Association meeting; Metro Rail Board of Directors meeting
Councilmember Somers also noted that on December 11, 2009 at 5:00 p.m., the Veterans Day Parade Association will host a dinner at the Mesa Hilton.
3. Scheduling of meetings and general information.
City Manager Christopher Brady stated that the meeting schedule is as follows:
Monday, December 14, 2009, 3:30 p.m. – Audit & Finance Committee Meeting
Monday, December 14, 2009, TBD – Study Session
Monday, December 14, 2009, 5:45 p.m. – Regular Council Meeting
Tuesday, December 15, 2009, 9:00 a.m. – Ray and Hawes Roads Groundbreaking Ceremony
4. Items from citizens present.
There were no items from citizens present.
5. Convene an Executive Session.
It was moved by Councilmember Somers, seconded by Vice Mayor Jones, that the Council adjourn the Study Session at 7:51 a.m. and enter into an Executive Session.
Carried unanimously.
a. Discussion or consideration of employment, assignment, appointment, promotion, demotion, salaries, discipline, dismissal, or resignation of a public officer, appointee or employee of the City. (A. R. S. §38-431.03A (1))

Without objection, the Executive Session adjourned at 8:15 a.m.
