GOVERNING BOARD

April 9, 2009

The Mesa Housing Authority Governing Board of the City of Mesa met in the lower level meeting room of the Council Chambers, 57 East 1st Street, on April 9, 2009 at 7:32 a.m.

    Chairman Smith excused Boardmember Richins from the entire meeting.

1. Conduct a public hearing to discuss the 2009 Streamlined Annual Public Housing Authority Plan (PHA).

      Chairman Smith announced that this was the time and place for a public hearing to discuss the 2009 Streamlined Annual Public Housing Authority Plan (PHA).

      Lucille Galini, 432 North Williams, addressed the Board and expressed appreciation for the Housing Authority Governing Board’s support of affordable housing.

      There being no additional speakers, Chairman Smith declared the public hearing closed.

      Boardmember Egan thanked Chairman Smith for reappointing him to the Governing Board. He expressed support for the Plan, and he also encouraged the other Boardmembers to support the Plan. Boardmember Egan noted that the program exists in all six Council districts, and he stated the opinion that the program helps to “Build a Better Mesa.”

      Chairman Smith thanked Boardmember Egan for his service.

2. Take action on a resolution authorizing the approval of the 2009 Streamlined Annual Public Housing Authority Plan (PHA).

      Housing and Revitalization Director Carolyn Olson advised that the City is required to submit a Public Housing Authority Annual Plan, which provides the basis for the funding allocation to the City.

      It was moved by Boardmember Kavanaugh, seconded by Boardmember Jones, that Resolution No. HGB09-1 be adopted.

      Chairman Smith declared the motion carried unanimously by those present and Resolution No. HGB09-1 adopted.

3. Adjournment.

Without objection, the Mesa Housing Authority Governing Board meeting adjourned at 7:37 a.m.
